Meet Our Leadership
Jeff Ratajczak
Owner
Jeff took over Renaissance in January 2025 after 20 years of service under previous ownership. With 25 years in turf and landscape management, he is eager to lead our team to new successes! He has been married to his lovely wife Felicity for 22 years, and they have three children (ages 20, 19, and 17). In his free time, he plays competitive Ultimate Frisbee in Cincinnati and manages Indiana's largest league!
Joe Horacek
Design / Project Management
Joe joined our team in January 2025. Since age 13, he has loved the outdoors, influenced by his mother in the landscape industry. He enjoys functional landscape design, emphasizing plant selection and hardscaping, while building lasting client relationships.
In his free time, Joe enjoys hiking, canoeing, gardening, and spending time with his family and cat, Cheeky.

Anna Kelley
Office Manager
Anna is the main contact for employees and clients, managing calls, emails, invoicing, and bill payments. She coordinates with the hardscape and maintenance teams and is involved in hiring and employee relations. Occasionally, she helps in the field. A mom of three, Anna is also a volunteer firefighter and first responder. In her free time, she loves the gym, running (completing her first half marathon this spring), and volunteering at the county's 4-H fair.
Penny Wells
Maintenance Supervisor
Penny Wells is our Bed Maintenance Foreman and manages our pruning and trimming crews. Since she joined us in 2019, her passion for landscaping and wealth of expertise has impressed many a client. Outside of work, you can find her exploring the vibrant local brewery scene or immersed in her latest automotive project. With over 20 years of landscaping experience, Penny not only brings skill but also an undeniable love for her craft that inspires everyone around her.
Dustin Davis
Projects Lead
Dustin's past five years have been filled with varied experiences. From starting with the mowing crew to working in hardscaping, he has encountered many different challenges, victories, and momentary defeats. Outside of work, he is an avid fisherman who loves the outdoors and being in the fresh air. He has also applied much of his work experience to his own house, transforming it into a home he loves and appreciates.
Heiden Lehner
Projects Lead
Heiden re joined the team in 2024. He's brought with him a wealth of experience as he's been ingrained in the green industry for over 10 years. He's got a great eye for design and one of his many specialties is working with flagstone. In his spare time he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family.
Shay Hoppas
Maintenance Lead
Shay has gained extensive knowledge in plant care, irrigation, and low voltage lighting, while also enhancing her trimming skills. She's continually searching for ways to improve her skills and helping crews work more efficiently.
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, baking, and spending quality time with her family.

Nathan Sassyn
Maintenance Lead
Nathan has been with the team since 2022. He has his chemical license and helps manage our cleanup and maintenance crews. He's continually learned more about plant material and proper maintenance and looks forward to learning more!
In his free time he enjoys spending time with friends and playing D&D.

Abby Burkett
Maintenance Lead
Abbey takes great pride in her quick learning abilities, whether it’s mastering the art of backing up a trailer, honing her trimming skills, or stepping up as a crew lead. Her passion for working with plants fuels her curiosity about the intricate details that shape a landscape. Outside of work, you can find her engrossed in a good book or enjoying the great outdoors on a scenic hike.

Belle joined the team in 2025 and manages our office space to her liking.
